Work continues with the concrete repairs of the East magazine, weather permitting. The top granite chipping hardened layer is now being placed on top of the lower repairs, when set it will be ground down to give an authentic finish. We have removed some of the soil from above the magazine as water is running through quite heavily following the recent storms, repairs will be made to the damaged bitumen and then back filled.
Casemate 4, Victorian magazine doors that were donated to us have been installed and work is progressing on replacing the ceiling that was fitted into the extension that was built when it was converted into barracks, this particular one was an officers quarters. Recent storms have high lighted another area within the fort that is unfortunately letting in water some 36 hours after it has rained.
